This is how our trading strategies look like:

EUR/USD

Trading strategy: Buy

Open: 1.2220

Target: -

Stop-loss: -

Recommended size: 2.00 mini lots per $10,000 in your account

Short analysis: The EUR/USD slide extends, but stalls short of 23.6% retrace of 1.1553-1.2536 and January 24 low. Those levels are key support area now. If broken the next support will be 38.2% retrace at 1.2161 and we will be looking to get long just above this support. Our bid is at 1.2220.

Previous position: Long opened at 1.2050, profit taken at 1.2400, earned: 350 pips, $466 per $10,000 in your account

GBP/USD

Trading strategy: Await signal

Open: -

Target: -

Stop-loss: -

Recommended size: -

Short analysis: Yesterday’s long lower shadow on daily candlestick chart suggest that the GBP/USD is likely to come back to rising trend. However, financial markets’ volatility has raised recently and we think this is too weak signal to open another long position. We stay sideways and look for stronger buying signal.

Previous position: Long opened at 1.3650. Profit taken at 1.4100, earned: 450 pips, $450 per $10,000 in your account

USD/JPY

Trading strategy: Short

Open: 110.00

Target: 107.50

Stop-loss: 111.25

Recommended size: 1.31 mini lots per $10,000 account

Short analysis:  It is not clear to us that recent equity market developments have had a meaningful impact on the USD/JPY. Long-term analysis suggests that given their safe-haven role, the JPY tends to benefit the most as long as risky assets remain nervous. That said, during this short cycle of equity sell off, the USD has benefited across the board – even against traditional safe-haven currencies. We keep our short position unchanged.

Previous position: Short opened at 112.00. Profit taken at 109.50, earned: 250 pips, $374 per $10,000 in your account

USD/CAD

Trading strategy: Await signal

Open: -

Target: -

Stop-loss: -

Recommended size: -

Short analysis: The CAD strengthened against the USD yesterday, recovering from an earlier near four-week low as a rebound for stocks offset lower oil prices and domestic data showing a wider-than-expected trade deficit. But yesterday’s move is not continued today. The resistance level is at 1.2590 (January 11 high) and 1.2604/08 (55/100-dma area). We are looking for higher levels to open another short position.

Previous position: Short opened at 1.2650. Profit taken at 1.2300, earned: 350 pips, $475 per $10,000 in your account

AUD/USD

Trading strategy: Await signal

Open: -

Target: -

Stop-loss: -

Recommended size: -

Short analysis: The Aussie is often sold during times of stress because Australia has an open economy that is leveraged to commodity prices and global growth and runs a perennial current account deficit. Technical analysis brings us mixed signals. Monthly RSI is biased down with room to run to suggest further downside. A long lower wick on the yesterday’s candle could be a bullish sign. We will stand aside and wait for better signals.

Previous position: Long opened at 0.7670. Profit taken at 0.7990, earned: 320 pips, $480 per $10,000 in your account

EUR/GBP

Trading strategy: Await signal

Open: -

Target: -

Stop-loss: -

Recommended size: -

Short analysis: The EUR/GBP sets a new short-term high, but rally is rejected just ahead of January’s high. A long upper wick forms on the daily candle. On the other hand, RSIs are biased up and 76.4% retrace of 0.8927-0.8687 fall has been cleared. We will wait for clearer signal before entering a trade.

Previous position: Short opened at 0.8850. Profit taken at 0.8810, earned: 40 pips, $120 pips per $10,000 in your account
